Research in the Barton Research Group (BRG) combines the development of novel sensing and control strategies with experimental implementation. Equal part theory and application, the focus of the research is on innovative strategies for improving the performance of a wide range of systems.

Current research topics include the exploration of novel sensing and control techniques for improving the coordination and precision motion control of multiple systems. The versatility of these strategies will be demonstrated through applications ranging from autonomous vehicles to emerging manufacturing processes.
